an amphibious kind of book club |
Who belongs to the Leapin' Lizards Book Club?
Readers!
In the beginning, some members were parents of Central Avenue School
students, parents of former students,
school librarians, or just friends.
The group was started by Carol Stafford, the former Central Avenue School
librarian, in about 1997.
Many of the original members had grade school aged kids, and we met in the
school library at lunchtime.
Carol has since gone on to other schools,
and lots of the
kids of original members are now in high school and college!
Here we are - years later - we've added some great new members, and lost a few, but
we're just as Lizardy as ever!
When?
The book club meets once
monthly. Dates will be published on this website when they are certain.
Time?
7:30 p.m.

The Books
The books read by this group
can be borrowed from the Madison Public Library.
A number of copies are reserved
for the "Leaping Lizards" book club, and may be
requested at the front desk. Yes, you have to tell the librarian "I'm
a Leaping Lizard".
This scholarly group has attended area cinema, and discussed the film afterwards.
