The Editor, Dr. H.S. Ritter

Dr. Hartien S. Ritter was born in Iola, Kansas. He received Master's
and Ph.D. degrees in chemistry from the University of Kansas and the
University of Akron, Ohio, and worked in the chemical industry for
forty years. A charter member of the Summit County Chapter of the
Ohio Genealogical Society (OGS), Dr. Ritter served as president of
OGS from 1975 to 1977, and was chairman of First Families of Ohio
for eight years.

After his wife's passing in 1996, Dr. Ritter made the completion of his
wife's genealogical research a priority, and has brought to fruition
Charlotte's many years of work with the publication of this book.

This work is a tribute to both her regard for the importance of family
history, and their lifelong partnership in the discovery of their heritage.

Dr. Ritter continues his genealogical research, and is at work on a book
about the Ritter family.
