Senior Class

Each  class is assigned two teachers as advisors, and at least two parents  to work with the class officers throughout the four years. Mr. Furrevig, the Assistant Principal, co-ordinates all the participants.

The teacher-advisors work with the class officers on fundraising activities;  class parents are available to support and assist.

Fundraising - why?
Fundraising proceeds this year will be added to the total raised in the previous three years which is applied to some of the expenses of graduation:  caps and gowns, the yearbook, prom, and other related costs.  This money is not used for the Graduation Gala.

This year's fundraising events include the Homecoming Dance, all-school talent show, and possibly a white elephant rummage sale, holiday candy sale, Valentine's Day Candygrams, or another approved fundraiser.

Class officers take the lead  This is the year when students assume greatest responsibility for fundraising decisions and actions which will directly affect the festivities at graduation time.  It is a time for kids to work co-operatively with others and experience both success and failure in a safe environment.  The faculty advisors co-ordinate and guide the class officers in recruiting others and performing the tasks required for successful events.  Class parents provide support as requested by the class officers and faculty advisors.   Mr. Furrevig is the advisor and contact for everyone involved.

As seniors, the student officers will contact the supplier for caps and gowns and arrange for a list of senior measurements, organize writeups for the yearbook, continue working with banquet and prom sites to finalize attendance, and begin arranging for chaperones for each activity.  The outcome of everyone’s efforts will be both an unforgettable graduation day, and a learning experience about planning and working co-operatively with others.
