The Burtnett family is traced back to Robert Burtnett, (1775(85?) - died after 1860) and Margaret (1783 - ca. 1860). They lived in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. In the same generation were the parents of Mary Croyle (1833 - before 1907), wife of Robert Burtnett, Jr (1833 - 1907) Mary Croyle and Robert Burtnett, Jr. were married in 1853, in Cambria County, Pennsylvania. Samuel Croyle was born ca. 1794 and his wife Susan was born ca. 1810. Parents of Harriet E. Coy (1856 - 1937), Don Burtnett's mother, were Uriah C. Coy ( 1826 - 1909) and Abigail Champlin (1831 - 1922) . Uriah Coy was born in Lebanon, New York and married Abigail Champlin on December 3, 1851 Parents of Abigail Champlin were Uriah A. Champlin (1802 -
1843) , and Mary (Polly) Card (1791- 1864).
